Red Willow Band - Way Back When: A Compilation

The Red Willow Band, established in South Dakota in the late '70s, re-united again in 1999. That same year, Way Back When surfaced as a two-fer collection compiling the band's earlier two LPs onto one CD. A few of these musicians continued on in their musical careers, most notably Harris, who remained active as a solo artist as well as in several bands, and Gage, who now plays regularly in Texas as a solo performer and in the duo Albert & Gage.

The band consisted of Chris Gage (guitar/piano/vocals), Hank Harris (guitar/vocals), Kenny Putnam (fiddle/vocals), Marley Forman (bass/vocals), and Barry Carpenter (drums/percussion/vocals). Produced for Lost Records by Chris Gage, Hank Harris, and Barry "Byrd" Burton. Originally released on the LPs Red Willow Band and Note for Note.
