Your Texas Music is dedicated to Texas music of any stripe — from gospel, classical, jazz, country, and hip-hop, to blues, bluegrass, rock, Americana, and folk — you name it.
We're fans of struggling, undiscovered artists, working and paying their dues. We're also fans of people who have paid their dues, but for one reason or another have never gained admission to major label stardom.
Your Texas Music is the place to go for tickets to shows by Texas artists, Texas music CDs on independent labels, Texas music downloads, and art by Texas artists.

The Gourds have never been much on sentiment. Since the band started
defining Gourds Music, as it has come to be known, with Dem's Good
Beeble in 1997 and the quirky Stadium Blitzer in 1998, they have
chugged through America fueled by music and a near-pathological need
for a good time.

The Jeopardy of Circumstance was produced by committee, with venerable Austin fixture Mark Addison and long-time friend Colin Brooks (The Band of Heathens) combining with Elkin to play approximately 15 instruments, "plus a couple more, depending on if you want to count things like shaking ankle bells inside cowboy boots as an instrument."
The album art on Reckless Kelly’s new release, Bulletproof , is a semi-faithful rendition of the homemade armor Australian outlaw and band namesake Ned “Reckless” Kelly wore during his final police shootout. But don’t assume that imagery and album title represent the Austin-based band’s propensity for shoot-’em-ups, horse-thievin’ or similarly dangerous behavior; their badass streak is manifested mainly in their fiercely incredible ability to rock out, and their “outlaw” credentials stretch about as far as their appreciation for outlaw country.
O'Connor revisits his Corpus Christi roots for his new CD – “Giants from a Sleepy Town” – which includes original songs such as "Devil's Lullaby" and "Getaway Car" (both covered by Slaid Cleaves' on his "Unsung" CD which was released in May 2006 on Rounder Records). His songs are populated by rakes, rounders, outlaws and even rock and rollers, but they all show some kind of spirit. The CD was produced and engineered by Jack Saunders at White Cat Recording Studio in Houston, TX.
